#trefoil is run in the spirit of Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting. In the rest of this document, the acronym GG/GS refers to Girl Guides and Girl Scouts.
Please remember your local Girl Guide (GG) or Girl Scout (GS) Promise and Law. Keep your Promise and Law in mind while chatting, and behave in a manner becoming to GG/GS.
GG/GS are expected to be honest and fair. Treat others as you would have others treat you. Lying is contrary to the Promise and Law and will not be tolerated. If someone asks you a question you don't feel comfortable answering, please let them know in a nice way that you prefer not to answer that question. Chatters who continually disregard the Promise and Law will be asked to leave the chat room.
For your own safety, please do not give any personal information in the chat room. Although we do our best to keep non-GG/GS people out of the chat room, it is not always possible. And one thing about the Internet is that you never really know for sure who is sitting at that other computer. If you feel comfortable enough with an individual to give them your e-mail address, please do so in a private message. To do otherwise would be to broadcast your e-mail address to everyone in the room!
Please only use pop-ups which are appropriate for the conversation, and try to limit them to 4 lines. Many ascii art pop-ups do not translate well on some screens. Please keep these to a minimum.
Please join in the channel conversation. If you are not chatting in the channel then you are idling. Do not idle for more than 30 minutes, or you will be asked to leave.
